THE Malacañang has formed a transition committee to ensure the conduct of peaceful and orderly transfer of power to the next administration.

The Palace issued Administrative Order No. 47 mandating departments, bureaus, and other government instrumentalities to create their respective transition teams to ensure the continuity and efficiency of services.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea will be the chairperson of the Presidential Transition Committee while the members were Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Budget Undersecretary Tina Rose Marie Canda, and National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Karl Chua.

In his report during the Talk to the People Address, Medialdea assured that pending the proclamation of the new officials of the executive branch, “will continue to perform and dispense duties but ready to turn over the reins to the next president.”

As of 1:47 p.m. of Thursday, May 12, 2022, leading presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is over 17 million votes ahead of his staunch contender, Vice President Leni Robredo.

Marcos’ running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is also far ahead of the vice presidential race against her rivals. (SunStar Philippines)
