NEW YORK – First responders have pulled two people from the water during an intense rescue effort in Jamaica Bay, Queens.
The Fire Department was called to Beach 121st Street and Newport Avenue around 11:30 a.m. for a report of two missing swimmers.
The Fire Department had numerous rescue personnel in the water, and pulled one person out around 12:30 p.m., and another shortly after 1 p.m. Both were rushed to the hospital. There was no immediate word on their condition.
