Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 6) — Jenny Ramp of Santa Ignacia, Tarlac won the Miss Philippines Earth 2022 crown in Coron, Palawan on Saturday.

This is the first time since 2019 that the pageant was physically staged after two years of virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also crowned were Jimena Tempra of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (Miss Philippines Air); Angel Santos from Trece Martires City (Miss Philippines Water); Eryka Tan from Legazpi City (Miss Philippines Fire); and Nice Lampad from Bayugan City (Miss Philippines Ecotourism).

The rest of the Top 10 finalists were considered as runners-up.

During the final question and answer, Ramp was asked about the battles she is currently facing. The Tarlac beauty answered: “The battle that I am currently facing is against myself. Every single day I strive to be the better version of myself and during this pageant, I certainly battled [against] myself. I was dealt with insecurities, I felt alone. But these empowered me to do better, to do better for myself, for my family, for my friends, for the environment. For all my friends and supporters watching me today, I hope I have made you proud and I hope I have conquered the battlefield for us all.”

Ramp will aim for the country’s fifth Miss Earth crown later this year. The most recent one was bagged by Karen Ibasco in 2017.
